JUSZKIEWICZ BECOMES FIRST FEMALE COACH IN PJHL HISTORY

Gibsons, British Columbia, August 22, 2024 – 

Coastal Sports and Entertainment Group Ltd. is pleased to announce that Whitney Juszkiewicz has been hired as the first female Assistant Coach in the Pacific Junior Hockey League for the newest franchise based in Gibsons, British Columbia. The franchise will commence play in September 2024 for the 2024-2025 PJHL season.

 

Her recent achievements include coaching with Team BC Male U16 selection camps and Team BC Female U18 (10-2-0), which brought them a gold medal at the 2023 Canada Winter Games in PEI and a bronze medal at Nationals in Dawson Creek, BC. 

 

In 2023/24, Whitney coached with the Female U18 Prep Delta Wild (CSSHL) with an impressive season record of 28-5-1.

 

During their summer selection camps, she has worked with Hockey Canada’s U18, U22 Development, and Senior Women’s National Teams. 

 

Heavily involved in British Columbia and Lower Mainland hockey communities, Whitney leads with over 12 years of experience in coaching and coordinating athlete programs.

 

“Coach Whit is very organized, excellent at using technology, knowledgeable, and a great communicator. She has an outstanding resume and high-level playing experience,” said Brad Wingfield, Head Coach and General Manager for the Coastal Tsunami. “She is well known and renowned in BC hockey and the P.O.E program,” he continued.

 

Juszkiewicz added, “I’m looking forward to working with Brad, Caymen, and the Tsunami organization. Success happens when preparation meets opportunity. This group has been working hard, and the players are hungry. I am excited to start making waves this September!”
